During this 12-day round trip, you will experience the diversified landscape and sights Oman has to offer. From the vibrating, modern city of Muscat to Jebel Akhdar’s vast canyons and absolute silence in the Wahiba Sands desert, this trip includes every adventure one could wish for in one holiday.
1. Day | Muscat – The Capital of the Sultanate
The ideal hotel for starting your Oman holiday is The Chedi Muscat. In its boutique style and with very elegant, arabesque elements it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful hotels in the Orient.
The outstanding cuisine, the award-winning spa area and the longest infinity pool in Arabia let you forget about the stress of everyday life.
In the afternoon, our Omani guide will show you around the capital. In addition to the Grand Mosque, the fish market, the traditional souq, and the old city center, he will give you “behind the scenes” insights of the Omani culture and way of life.
2. Day | Wahiba Sands Desert – Sur & Wadis on the Road to the desert
Before you reach the traditional fishing village of Sur, it’s worthwhile to stop in the oases of Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab for a hike in the palm-lined canyons.
Via Sur, where the traditional Omani dhow boats are still constructed to this day, the journey continues to the Wahiba Sands, your adventure amidst the sand dunes.
Next, enjoy a camel ride into the sunset until you reach your private-built luxury tented camp, where a delicious dinner is prepared for you.
The campfire under the twinkling starry sky provides an unforgettable experience in complete silence.
Accommodation: Wahiba Sands Desert – Canvas Club Privatcamp
3. Day | Wahiba Sands Desert – Glamping in the Wahiba Desert
After a relaxed desert breakfast with freshly baked bread, visit Wadi Bani Khalid, Oman’s most famous oasis. Here you can explore the cave systems and spend time relaxing in the emerald pools.
On the way back, the Bedouins will share their knowledge of camels and the traditional native way of life, before you return to your private desert camp for another night in the desert.

4. Day | Jebel Akhdar – Birkat Al-Mawz & Jebel Akhdar
On the way to Jebel Akhdar lies the mountain village Birkat Al Mauz. In addition to date plantations and ancient clay constructions, explore the famous Falaj water canals, one of the four UNESCO-listed Omani cultural sites.
This is followed by a panoramic drive to the „green mountain“ of Oman and check-in to the fantastic Alila Jabal Akhdar Hotel which lies at an altitude of over 2,000 meters.
Seclusion and luxury in the detail create a feeling of absolute relaxation and serenity, certainly one of the most beautiful places to stay in the Sultanate.
Accommodation: Jebel Akhdar – Alila Jabal Akhdar
5. Day | Jebel Akhdar Mountains – Revel in the Mountain Landscape
The almost 3,000m high mountain region provides ideal conditions for hiking, mountain biking or a relaxing day with breathtaking views.
Jebel Akhdar means green mountains. The name comes from the fact that the region is one of the most fertile in the country. Pomegranates, apricots, peaches, almonds, walnuts, grapes and the famous roses for the distilled Jebel Akhdar rose water thrive in the orchards and on the extensive terraced fields.
Accommodation: Jebel Akhdar – Alila Jebel Akhdar
6. Day | Nizwa Region – Oasis Capital Nizwa & Jebel Shams Mountains
In addition to the former capital Nizwa, which is best known for its traditional markets and the old fortress, the whole region with its ancient palaces, mud villages and green mountain oases offers an incredible variety of impressions.
The picture is crowned by the „sun mountain“ Jebel Shams towering over the region. This and the breathtaking views of the palm-fringed town of Al Hamra are visible before you drive up to your mountain hotel „The View“.

7. Day | Wadi Bani Awf – Through the Snake Canyon back to Muscat
On the way back to Muscat, you cross the most spectacular dry valley of Oman, the Wadi Bani Awf, surrounded by deep gorges. The lush green date palms provide a wonderful contrast to the rugged mountains that surround the wadi.
Springs originating in the surrounding mountain range provide the surrounding area with crystal clear water, which is distributed by the Falaj system in the surrounding villages. In Bilad Sayt, you will witness how this system can be used effectively for terraced cultivation.
Accommodation: Muscat – Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel
